Tamara D. Richardson

VP of Sales & Operations/Buyer, Creative Genius

Taking Your Shopping Experience to the Next Level! Tamara Richardson, Tammy, as she is commonly known, has been involved with the business since she was seven years old. As the daughter of the founder Donna Pearman, she was enlisted to help her mother during school breaks, in the evenings as required and eventually in addition to a full time job. She graduated from Emory University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After completing the managment trainee programme at the Bank of Bermuda she joined People’s Pharmacy on a full time basis as the buyer in December 2001.

During Tammy’s early years she turned a passion for shopping into a career, expanding the beauty, baby and toy Department at People’s Pharmacy. Little People’s was born during our most recent expansion in 2004. Our award winning toy store was the result of many years spent determining what was missing in our local market and providing customer’s with a shopping experience. “I’m glad I’m taking the family business into the next generation. I hope my son Diego and daughter Soleil, will be interested in continuing the family legacy; one that is important to the community for so many different reasons,” she said.

The closure of a major retail competitor in 2006 created the opportunity for the addition of the juvenile department offering a unique and contemporary selection of baby and mother gear. Tammy continues to keep her finger on the pulse of the retail sector in Bermuda, working to maintain the standard of excellence for which People's Pharmacy customers have come to expect.
